Traditional Direct Bill work
comp insurance is based on an estimated payroll. It
typically requires a 15%-25% deposit at policy inception and
an additional payment plan of two to eleven installments
(depending on premium size). At the end of the policy
period the carrier will conduct an audit to determine actual
payroll per class code during the policy period and then a
credit or debit notice is issued for the policy to either
collect additional premium due or return overpaid premium.
